Skyscan's third book of aerial photographs was published in May 2003. It chronicles over 80 of Britain's historic houses from a uniquely personal viewpoint with an account from each owner of it's history and family anecdotes. Accompanying this is a stunning full page aerial photograph of each property, newly taken from airplanes and balloons to show the beautiful surroundings and set the scene. Smaller detail pictures of gardens, interiors and object d'art also help to give a well rounded account of each family home.
The houses are all members of the Historic Houses Association who provide an introduction and information on the efforts made by their members to preserve these small pockets of British history and traditions in the encroaching 21st century.
Further details can be found by clicking here. Skyscan's previous books have been 'English Heritage from the Air' about properties held for the nation by the English Heritage organisation and 'The Secret Thames' an aerial journey along the long distance footpath created by The Countryside Commission adjacent to Britain's premier river.
All images from these and other projects are lodged in Skyscan's photolibrary
